Each cage compartment is 24 inches deep, 36 inches wide, by 15 inches tall, configured vertically that leaves a 4-inch tall waste trough opening designed to be used with a 2.5-inch tall pull-out waste pan. It is advised that any cages stacked taller than one level should be secured to a wall, hung from a ceiling, or installed in a frame.
** Only the first level comes with a panel that holds the waste tray in place. The subsequent levels above it use the ceiling of the cage below to hold the waste pan.**
